Pallavi Sharda (b 1992) knows what chasing your dreams is all about.  From a very young age, enthralled by its magic, she wanted to join the Narnia-like world of Hindi cinema. While many kids growing up in suburban Australia might think it, Pallavi packed her bags and actually made it happen.

DANCE.

A classical (Bharatha Natyam) and contemporary Indian dance exponent, Pallavi taught and performed extensively in Australia before flying 'homeward' to India to fulfil that childhood dream. She quickly became known by her fans in India for her unique rhythmic folk & ‘filmy’ dancing.

ACT.

In a short span of time, Pallavi has established herself as a truly global performer. With critically acclaimed performances across genres, she is the first Indian origin actress leading actress on the Aussie big and small screens. Pallavi’s first ABC drama Pulse garnered her the Rising Star Award by the Casting Guild of Australia after which she starred in British period drama Beecham House directed by Gurinder Chadha, ABC Australia’s Les Norton with David Wenham & Rebel Wilson, Warner Bros film Tom and Jerry and Netflix drama series The One. In 2020, Pallavi led the lockdown-themed Aussie comedy ‘Retrograde’ which was awarded the Most Outstanding Comedy Ensemble at the Equity Awards.

In 2022, Pallavi starred in the award winning Australian drama ‘The Twelve’ and was the lead actor in the hit 2022 Netflix rom com Wedding Season.

SPEAK.

A distinguished alumni from the the University of Melbourne Law, Arts and Languages schools, Pallavi is an advocate for India-Australia relations and the strengthening of intercultural links between the two countries. Pallavi speaks widely on topics such as Asia literacy, multicultural understanding, womens' rights and believes strongly in creating authentic representation in the arts. Pallavi is on the board of advisors for, E-Kutir, a socially focussed enterprise based out of Odissa. Pallavi has been an ambassador for 'OZ FEST', Australia's largest cultural festival in India. She is a firm advocate for sustainable development & particularly advocates for the abolition of fast fashion. In 2019, Pallavi was named one of Australia’s most influential Asian-Australians and in 2021 she was the recipient of the the Advance Global Arts Award.
